Dear Jo-Ellen Darcy & The Army Corps of Engineers,
My name is Alice Mae Iron Road and I am a 14-yr-old girl who is in 8th grade. My Mexican name is Alica Rocha. I live in Cannon Ball, ND and I am going against the Dakota Access Pipeline because it will kill nature and it will get inside our drinking and bathing water. That’s not right.
Putting the pipes through our river will kill us because it’s our drinking water and how can we survive without water? Our animals drink from there and bathe in that water. Take our water, and you will take lives.
To the people who are helping to build the pipes, I would ask you why? Why are you helping to take away our water? I know you just want the money and everything but do you really want people hating you because you are helping to build the pipelines? Building the pipelines in the middle of our river is one of the most ridiculous things I’ve ever heard in my life. Who is the person that made up this awful idea? I think as a teen they should take the pipeline away to somewhere else and we can continue as we were before. I also heard from the radio that drugs will be coming in from the construction workers and we don’t need that. Our children will be in danger.
